Large Hail Possibly To Pound Shreveport In Storms Thursday/Friday
The National Weather Service in Shreveport is keeping a close eye on some storms that will likely hit the area in the next few days.
According to the NWS forecasters, this substantial upper level storm system could hit much of the Arklatex late Thursday through early Friday and again into Saturday for the area south of I-20.
Establishing a Threat Level of 3 of 5, which is an Enhanced Risk, for some of the area, the National Weather Service indicates that this threat will arrive Thursday afternoon, extending through the evening/overnight and early Friday morning.
Along With Large Hail, We Could See Damaging Wind & Possible Flooding
Large hail will be the primary threat during this event, but damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes will also be possible. Rainfall also could be heavy at times with some localized flooding.
The final push with shifting winds will occur on Saturday with the cold front and the last of any heavy rainfall.
Fine details concerning a continued severe weather threat will focus on Thursday late and overnight for now, but Friday may not be out of those woods just yet.
More likely however, Friday and Saturday we will be watching for heavy training storms and possible flooding development on streets and some of our rivers.
