Forecasters Warn Shreveport Could See Devastating Storm Saturday
While it doesn't happen very often, at least this time Mother Nature is giving us an option on the news we would like to hear.

With that in mind, which would you like first? The bad news or the worse news? Yeah, this is going to be fun.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport we are in for a wild ride that will likely begin tomorrow and continue for most of next week.
Shreveport Area Likely In For Severe Weather On Saturday
While most of the Arklatex will see some relief from the colder temperatures on Saturday, as the high temperatures are forecast to be in the upper 60's to lower 70's, this relief will come with an imposing price tag.
On a 5-point-scale, the immediate Shreveport area is at a Level 3 or "Enhanced Risk" of possibly damaging severe weather on Saturday. While the NWS has yet to determine the exact time for the arrival of this storm, they feel it will most likely occur sometime from mid-day to the evening hours.
Along with the threat of moderate to heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts of 60+ mph are expected. The area is also facing possible quarter-sized or larger hail and a threat of isolated tornadoes.
Of course, we will have more information on this storm system as we get a little closer to its arrival.
There's The Bad News About The Weather, And Then It Gets Worse
In a briefing regarding upcoming weather hazards, the NWS shows that after a slight weather reprieve Sunday and Monday, we will then be in for another round of sub-freezing temperatures several mornings next week.
In the 10-day forecast from The Weather Channel, we learn that we are likely in for another dose of rain Tuesday evening as temps fall into the mid 20's.
After a high only into the upper 30's on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, nightly lows will drop to the upper teens to low 20's.
So, be advised, if you were fortunate enough to not have your water pipes freeze a couple of weeks ago, you probably don't want to tempt fate.
You've got ample warning these frigid mornings are coming, so take advantage of any break in the weather this weekend and prepare your home, plants and pets.
