Thursday night was nothing short of pure magic in Bossier City. The Event Center at the Boardwalk was absolutely electric, packed to the brim with everything from hilarious Halloween costumes and misfit outfits to elegant ballgowns and stunning wedding dresses. It was the highly anticipated “Nowhere to Wear It Party” benefiting The Hub Urban Ministry and Purchased: Not For Sale, and to say the SBC showed up and showed out is the understatement of the year!

I wish I could fully put into words how beautiful, loud, and impactful the evening was, but thankfully, we have something even better. The brilliant Madison Roop with Circle M Productions was on-site, capturing the most iconic looks from the Trashion Show. Roop shared, "Last night was a powerful reminder that some of the most meaningful beauty is found when forgotten things find new life and real love."

The runway was a spectacular metaphor for the ministry itself. Local event planner and co-host of Two Peas in a Pod, Bonne Summers beautifully noted that the organization has helped thousands of women over twenty years, a legacy that literally started when one woman Cassie Hammet, sold her own clothes to fund her mission. This came full circle on the runway as local ladies redesigned everyday materials into high-fashion masterpieces. As Summers put it, the night perfectly mirrored how this ministry "is also redesigning and repurposing lives of ladies who have had some horrendous life experiences."

The energy in the room was unmatched. Brittney Reeve, managing partner at Chef's Table by BeauxJax, took to social media to rave about the atmosphere, the music, and the incredible cause, writing, "We had a blast but even more importantly, I’m just grateful to be a part of what God is doing in this city." Her own show-stopping outfit? A wild mix of a Goodwill dress, a tomato crate, party supplies, and knick-knacks!

Although The Hub has yet to officially confirm that this spectacular night will return, it is safe to say the ladies of Shreveport-Bossier are already demanding this become an annual staple. Trust me, I’m already scheming a crazy outfit for next year that you are not ready for!
