If you've been coming up with the traffic alerts for the Shreveport/Bossier area of late, you're aware that next Tuesday, June 23, DOTD is going to be doing some concrete repair work on I-49 southbound near Bert Kouns.

Due to the nature of that work, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Turns out, this project to repair some heat-related concrete blow ups is only the tip of the iceberg that will further congest traffic in this area all of next week.

Please drive with caution through the bridge inspection zones, and remain alert for specialized equipment and crews that will be on site.

At the total ramp closures, all vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route during those time frames.  For those locations which will only require lane closures, no vehicles larger than 12’ wide during the specified hours.

Work on these will be performed "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay/extend or alter in other ways the days/hours of scheduled work.
