DOTD Announces Nighttime Lane Closure on Shreveport Barksdale Bridge
If you work a night shift at Barksdale Air Force Base and you normally go in through the West Gate, or your normal nighttime travel takes you east from Shreveport into Bossier over the Shreveport/Barksdale Bridge, things could be a little slower than normal tomorrow night.

In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, all drivers have been advised that tomorrow night, Tuesday, August 25, the eastbound inside (left) lane and shoulder of the LA 3032 bridge (Shreveport-Barksdale) over Red River in Caddo and Bossier Parishes will be closed.

This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 6:30 pm to 6:00 am for this one night only, and is necessary to allow for evaluation of the bridge deck.
Inspection of the Shreveport/Barksdale Bridge Will Be Done If Weather Permits

Of course, this project will be done "Weather Permitting" so any inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
