According to the travel alert from DOTD, this is going to be a somewhat lengthy interruption and the anticipated lane closures will be in place for about seven days, barring any inclement weather that could delay, extend or alter in other ways, the scheduled work days.

DOTD says they'll need to close these lanes in an effort to remove a paved island in the median, and construct a turn lane related to a private commercial development at this location.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
