Plan for Delays During Overnight Lane Closures on I-20 at I-220

Nighttime drivers in west Shreveport who routinely use I-20, beware, things will be a little different this Friday through next Monday.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has issued a notice to all drivers that on each of these nights, Friday, August 28th through Monday, August 31, there will be intermittent lane closures on I-20 in both directions, eastbound and westbound, at the I-220/LA 3132 interchange in Shreveport.

Dates and Hours of I-20 Lane Closures in Shreveport Announced

The lane closures are scheduled as follows:

Night of Friday, August 28th, 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Night of Saturday, August 29th, 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Night of Sunday, August 30th, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Night of Monday, August 31st, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Why Will DOTD Be Closing Lanes On I-20 in Shreveport?

These lane closures will take place in one direction at a time, and are necessary to allow the contractor for the pavement striping project on I-20 to complete final work items (interstate shields).

This project includes the replacement of all pavement markings and striping on I-20 from the Texas state line to I-220 in Caddo Parish.

Of course, this work will be performed "Weather Permitting", so inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
