And from what we learned in that notice from DOTD, this $7.9 million overlay project will be a significant, lengthy, undertaking that will most certainly complicate travel in south Bossier Parish.

During the project, drivers should prepare for intermittent lane closures, particularly during full-depth patching, milling and overlay work, to allow construction to progress safely and efficiently. Drivers are urged to prepare for possible delays, and allow additional time for daily commutes.

The work is slated to begin Monday, September 28, but according to DOTD's notice, isn't expected to be completed until early 2027, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
