Fundraiser Planned for Local Toddler Suffering From Cystic Fibrosis

 

Madison Jo Philyaw is probably the toughest little toddler on the planet.  "Maddie Jo" was born with Cystic Fibrosis on December 14, 2011 and since then she's suffered numerous surgeries, extended hospital stays, loss of hearing in her right ear, suffered through pneumonia and infection after infection, and yet she continues to fight for her life.

Dog owners can take their pets out to eat with them for Yappy Hour at Texadelphia in Shreveport Friday. Your $10 donation goes to Robinson’s Rescue Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. The restaurant, at 1409 E. 70th St., is donating 10 percent of the evening’s profits between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. to Robinson’s Rescue.

Golf Scramble to Benefit Young Marines Scheduled For Monday, June 9

Remember last year when Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington refused to take the word "God" from the Young Marines oath?  That was one of the greatest displays of Christian commitment we've seen in a long time, but it did come with a price.  All the Federal funding was pulled from the Bossier Young Marines Program.  And now, it's time to try and replenish the coffers.  And they'll aid the fundraising efforts with a  Young Marines Benefit Golf Classic to be held Monday, June 9, at Palmetto Country Club in Benton.
