Heath White is what's good about the Ark-La-Tex!  He's certainly part of the solution, not the problem, and it's people like Heath that we want to recognize each and every week with the "Caught in the Act Award."  It's exclusively for people "caught in the act" of doing good work.  And Heath is certainly one of our bright spots.  He was nominated by Chris Plants and here's what Chris had to say.

Howard "Heath" White, of Waskom, Texas, life changed after he had a daughter, Paisley, with Down syndrome. He has since dedicated himself to running marathons as a disability advocate. Before her birth, he had taken part in competitive races for years, but stopped when she arrived. He later realized it was something they could do together - him running and pushing her in a special stroller.

Heath and his daughter's, Paisley, first race took place just before her first birthday and they continued to achieve medals over the next five years - taking part in nine marathons as well as numerous 5K and 10K races together.

Heath has continued to be an advocate for down syndrome by pushing many other children with down syndrome in marathon races all over the country and speaking to parents of children that have Down Syndrome. His last run was the Boston Marathon on April 20, 2015, where he pushed a wheelchair-bound woman named Gabby Conklin, who has cerebral palsy.

ESPN did a E:60 special on Heath a couple years back that tells the story way better than I can. Heath is a awesome Christian Brother of mine that I am so proud of and thankful that GOD placed in my life as well.

Heath White, it's men like you that make this an awesome place to live!  Thank you!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Steak House and Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!
