Meet Gabriele Kappers – This Week’s Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Gabriele Kappers truly loves animals and it's her undying love and dedication to rescue efforts for the past 20 years that has earned her a place in more hearts than she could imagine.

And that's why she's this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient.

Nominated by Michelle Rettig, here's what she had to say about Gabriele.

Gabriele Kappers has been a driving force in the local animal rescue scene for the past 15 years. She is the president and life force behind Dixieland Dog Rescue. Dixieland Dog Rescue is a very small non profit group that not many people may have heard about, but they certainly make a huge impact in rescuing and fostering local dogs from death row in our shelters, picking up strays, and providing the grateful furbabies a second chance at a new and happier life. Gabriele has given up her home, money, and her heart to needy animals countless times over the last few years and remains a master of humility, refusing to seek public recognition for herself and all of the amazing and wonderful things that she does. This world could certainly use more folks like her!
