Since September of 2023, crews have worked to totally replace this entire section of I-20 complete with all the entrance and exit ramps as part of a $128 million project and though the work was originally expected to be completed earlier this year, it would appear we are nearing its end.

As part of the final stages, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has just issued a notice that beginning today, Wednesday, June 3 at 9:00 am, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures on I-20 westbound between the I-220 interchange and LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive) in Bossier City, while workers tackle some concrete repair work.

These intermittent lane closures will continue through the morning of Friday, June 5.

Traffic will be allowed to pass through the area so no detour is necessary for this work.

As with any project of this type, the work will be performed "Weather Permitting", so any inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter in other ways the scheduled work day/hours.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
