And according to an advisory from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, there will be another obstacle for drivers this coming Sunday night, June 28, when LA 3132 westbound between the LA 511 (70th Street) and I-20 interchanges in Shreveport, is closed as part of an ongoing project to replace overhead signage along LA 3132.

This full road closure (westbound direction only toward I-20) is scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 pm to 6:00 am this one night only, and is necessary to allow the contractor to install the overhead truss structures that hold the signs.

This work is being conducted at night to minimize the impact to traffic as much as possible. Drivers should be aware of the closure and make plans to utilize an alternate route. The eastbound direction will remain open to traffic.

This will be a total road closure for westbound traffic at the specified location. All westbound drivers will be detoured to LA 511 (W.70th St) to Pines Road to I-20.

As with any project of this nature, all work will be performed "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay/extend or alter in other ways the scheduled work day/hours.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
