Each and every week, Kiss Country wants to thank all those incredible men and women who have served our great country! We appreciate the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families, this week we salute a local Marine - Lance Corporal Thomas Beranek.

The small town of West Branch, Michigan has turned the table on a group of would be high school bullies in this real life Cinderella story.  In a story we first read about on NBC News, 16 year old Whitney Kropp was voted to be on her high school homecoming court, only to find out that it was all part of a cruel prank by several bullies.

This morning we mentioned the story of a mother who sat her children down to watch Lilo & Stitch, a movie she recorded on her Dish Network DVR. The cartoon was very unexpectedly interrupted with 6 minutes of some pretty raunchy adult only broadcasting. This brought us in a round about way to the question: have you ever been in a similar awkward situation?

We were only able to ignore the popularity of Honey Boo Boo for so long. We finally caved--in a big way. And even though we aren't running around here without shoes on and we didn't spend our weekend at the expired bulk junk food auction, we did find out our Honey Boo Boo names: "Tootie Tantrum and Grace Mae Mae", c'mon, you know you wanna know yours. . . we won't tell.

Kiss Country is your Country Concert Connection, and we're proving it again with a big show November 30 at Shreveport's The Strand Theatre. The Taste of Country Christmas Tour is starting, and Kiss Club VIPs will get first shot at tickets!

She's 83 years old and instead of spending her weekends making a baby blanket or a Christmas quilt, she'd prefer to float a keg while tailgating with fellow LSU fans! Check out this video of LSU's "Keg Stand Granny"!

Wild Hearts Horse Rescue offers a service to those that could never repay them.  They take horses that can no longer be cared for, neglected or abused, and offer them a chance to have a home.  As Jennifer Blanc puts it "God has a purpose for everyone and ours is to care for horses in need. After all we are the keepers of His animals."

Hallelujah it's finally cooling off in Kiss Country! There was a chill in the air this morning as we woke up to temperatures in the upper 50's. Football, food, family, the smell of a bonfire--what's the best part of this very brief season called Fall in Kiss Country?

Today, unfortunately, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. It seems that in our profession people either love it or hate it. Gary loves it. . .Tracy, well, she does not love it. (She's just jealous that she didn't grow up to be a successful scallywag). In honor of this international holiday here is a horrible video, enjoy! Oh! And go get your free Krispy Kreme donut.

Think your youngster will someday grace the gridiron and our television screen each Sunday afternoon as a potential NFL Hall of Famer?  There's probably no better way for those young men and women to exhibit those emerging skills than with the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition!
