Kiss Country Salutes

Every week Kiss Country salutes America's finest!  The service men and women who daily keep our country the greatest of all!  This week, it's Major Stephen Schwab of the United States Army.

Every day men and women find themselves in harm’s way as they protect you and I from all those who would end our American way of life. It’s these men and women we want to salute. And this week, we snap to a proper salute for Sean Jones.

Momma's are proud of their soldiers...and rightfully so.  Especially those soldiers who have what it takes to be a United States Marine.  Well, Martha Brown is especially proud of her Marine...her DAUGHTER, Lance Corporal Sylina Alexander!  And because of that Sylina is our Kiss Country Service Member of the Week.  Here's the story that Martha sent us:

General Douglas MacArthur once said, “No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.” Kiss Country's Service Member of the Week, Samantha Converse of the United States Air Force, certainly is vigilant in preserving our freedoms.

Here in Kiss Country, we're blessed to be surrounded by heroes!  And every week we  recognize another of them and the sacrifices made by them and their families.  This week our Salute goes out to Senior Airman Steven Price!  Here's the letter we received from his wife Nicole Price.

"Mighty are those who flirt with fate." This week's Kiss Country Service Member of the Week was submitted to us by Lauren Jerden and she's obviously pretty proud of her nomination since he's also her husband.

Our Kiss Country Salute this week comes from Darlene Patterson-Thacker.  Darlene recently told us about her husband, Beau Thacker, but said she wasn't thinking at the time, that Beau wasn't actually the first soldier in her life.  So, this week she's told us about that first soldier.  Daddy, Pvt. 1st Class, Larry G. Patterson, Sr.

Just reading a couple lines of the letter we received from Jeff Howard was all we needed to see just how much he loves and admires his sister.  And that love and admiration are infectious as Jeff's sister, Cherielynne Phillips, was selected as the "Kiss Country Service Member of the Week!"

Lauren Habedank nominated our Service Member(s) of the Week this week.  Actually there are 2 of them.  Her husband Timothy Habedank and Bryan Bell of the United States Air Force.
