General Douglas MacArthur once said, “No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.” Kiss Country's Service Member of the Week, Samantha Converse of the United States Air Force, certainly is vigilant in preserving our freedoms.

Karen Weber tells us Samantha's story:

Samantha is a graduate from C.E. Byrd High School, class of 2004. She entered the military in January 2005. She attended basic training at Lackland AFB, TX, survival training in Spokane, WA and Florida.

She won the John Levitow leadership award while stationed at Grand Forks, AFB, ND. She is currently stationed at Fairchild, AFB, Spokane, WA.

She is an in-flight refueler on the KC-135. 'Passing Gas at 30,000 ft.' Samantha's husband Jake, is also in the Air Force. She has deployed more times than we care to count. I miss her terribly but couldn't be more proud.
