Turner And McCoy
Pack a jacket if you are headed out to watch the boys of Fall take the field across Kiss Country tonight. The forecast calls for perfect Fall football weather with a low of 46 tonight in the Shreveport Bossier area. Here are tonight's football games:
We don't personally know any people who would call it "fun" to watch the Presidential Debates, but we certainly figured out how they could start heading in that direction.
If you noticed Tuesday night, things got heated. Both Obama and Romney broke the rules of the debate and began directing their comments toward one another, completely ignoring the audience. They walked towards each other, and I'm sure we weren't the only people who wished that they would just throw down right there in front of God and everybody.
Run with the Nuns VI will be held THIS WEEKEND! Today and tomorrow, join the party in the Red River District of Downtown Shreveport. Special guests, Gerald and Kitten Dowden, stars of Shreveport’s Bayou Billionaires which airs on CMT, will be helping the Sisters with their live auction plus visiting with participants on Saturday.
Some interesting events are happening this weekend in Kiss Country including the first Horse Fall Festival in Bossier, a music festival in Blanchard, and the dedication and open house of the brand new Caddo Fire District #1 Central Station.
I'd like to say this post is just for the kids, but I must confess--I, Tracy Turner, steal Halloween candy from children. Yes, I am guilty of occasionally sneaking a fun size Snickers or a tiny box of Nerds from my nieces and nephews. Here's some interesting information for you, my fellow candy thieves:
There is a great fundraiser happening this weekend in Blanchard to support Reba Tullis and her family as Reba battles breast cancer. Music, food, auctions--all proceeds benefit Reba and her family.
This past weekend Haydel's Game Calls partnered with the Wounder Warrior project to host a deer hunting event for six soldiers. These brave soldiers arrived at Barksdale Airforce Base Friday and stayed til Monday. Volunteers assisted them with everything and donations covered all the costs….well, most of the costs.
Every week, Kiss Country is making a special point to thank all those incredible men and women who have served our great country and fought for our freedoms! We appreciate the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families, this week we salute Staff Sergeant Dewayne Manson of the Texas Army National Guard. His mom writes:
It takes a lot to wake me up, but whatever that explosion was last night did the trick. It shook our home enough to make me sit up straight and look at the alarm clock.
It was 11:26 pm and exactly what happened is still a mystery
Golfers are still needed for this Friday's Joe Ferguson Hilman House Golf Tournament at Eastridge Country Club. Tee Times are 7:30 am and 1:30 pm with lunch served between. And you can choose your tee time or play both
Thousands flocked to the new Cavendars in Shreveport yesterday to see Willie, Si and Phil Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" fame. Course, the Duck Commanders of the Robertson family have built a duck call empire. A major part of their marketing strategy is hair. Yep, hair. The Robertson men and their famous beards are back with the new season of 'Duck Dynasty' but they didn't become wooly mountain men overnight--believe it or not, Willie Robertson was once a clean shaven young man. He's hiding some darlin' dimples underneath that beard.
Here's the perfect Monday morning video to make you smile. As you're chugging your coffee and it feels as if your eyelids are lined with sandpaper--just know you aren't alone. These two babies could barely stay awake through their meal either.
