Every week, Kiss Country salutes another Service Member of the Week.  A hero willing to put it all on the line so that we can enjoy the benefits of living in the greatest country on earth!  This week's Salute comes from Karen Malone who tells us the story of Richard Edwards, our Kiss Country Service Member of the Week.

Richard Edwards was my Father's Uncle. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor and was there the day it was attacked. He wasn't killed there, but was killed months later in North Africa.  He is actually buried in a cemetery near Casablanca. I am so proud to be his great niece, even though he died 20 years before I was born. He was our family's first "Casualty of War". This past Saturday we welcomed home a group of World War 2 Veteran's that went to Washington DC to see the Monument that was built in their honor. I'd also like to mention that I'm very proud to work for Brookshires who actually pay for World War 2 Veterans to make this trip every year!
