Barbara Gandy is making the most of her years here on Earth! She's genuinely concerned for others here in the community and she acts on that concern. It's her giving spirit and genuine care that have most impressed her daughter, Kelsie Molina.

In fact, Kelsie is so impressed with her Mom, that she took the time to write us a letter to nominate Barbara as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award! And once you've read the letter, you'll see why this week's selection was so easy.

Ever since I can remember, my mom has been not only an amazing woman, but also an amazing role model, care giver & teacher. I have a friend once who never really got the same as I did growing up. She is still to this day my overall best friend. There were days that they didn t have groceries in their house & my mother went out and bought my best friend and her family groceries. From her favorite snacks, to things they needed just to have meat on their bones. My mom always makes sure that people who are less fortunate than us or others, would never go without. There was another lady who didn t have much, my mom would pay her just to come tidy up our house, a significant amount and anytime she needed help, my mom was there at just one call. My husband and I have been in the struggle before and she never seems to amaze me by how much she helps us. From buying groceries, to tires for his truck, to paying my car note, to phone bills and medical bills. I was sick for a while & got up to 3,000 dollars in medical bills, to THIS day, she is still helping me pay those bills. I am now expecting a little one, & she took my husband, my dog and I into her home to help us for three months until we will be into our new home. She provides a roof over her middle daughters head & her first grand babies head as well. She is the most selfless, most humble person I have ever met and I m not just saying this because she is my mother. EVERYONE whom knows her that i come across, tells me how amazing, loving and sweet she is. I have met many generous people in my life, but none like my mom who goes above and beyond to make sure everything is well provided for others. I tell her i wish i could buy her an island just to prove how much i appreciate her other than saying thank you. She works full time with the VA, takes care of our veterans and is the type of woman to sit by your b edside and cry with you along with giving you encouragement just because she wants you to mentally feel better. She has been a mom to many many people that she shares no blood with. She is so generous in many ways and just the few things i listed are not even a speck of what she does on a daily basis. She has literally given me the shirt off of her back & others when they didn t have one. I can t imagine anybody more deserving than this wonderful, patient, loving woman.

Barbara Gandy, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse and Silver Star Grille have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!
