This week, Shreveport experienced some moments of severe weather, but nothing like we were dealing with three years ago.

For the first week in June back in 2015, the Shreveport and Bossier City were feeling the wrath of the Red River. Many people across the area were either dealing with flooding on their property, or working to help those who were.

The flooding stretched up and down Caddo and Bossier Parishes, as the Red River crested over 37 feet. At them time, it was the highest level the river had reached in 70 years. At the river's peak, it was between 6-9 feet above flood stage.

Flooding became so bad, roads (including I-220) were shut down, businesses were closed, and the Louisiana National Guard was deployed.

But on this day three years ago, it was just the start. The flood waters remained for weeks, and the damage caused is still felt across our area to this day.
