High Wind, Hail, Flash Flooding All Possible In Arklatex Today
In a special Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service in Shreveport, we are told that the weather could get especially nasty later today (Monday) into tonight.
According to their forecasters, severe weather chances should increase this afternoon and evening hours, as the main disturbance begins to move through the region.
Hail and damaging winds continue to be the main threat, with isolated flash flooding possible under heavy rainfall rates.
The National Weather Service warns of a slight risk for damaging winds, large hail and possible heavy rains that could lead to flooding.
Due to that flooding potential, with the possibility of an additional one to three inches of rain fall and possibly some isolated higher amounts, hey have issued a Flood Watch for most of the Arklatex area that will extend all the way through 7:00 Tuesday morning
And the extended forecast doesn't look much better as the NWS is forecasting the possibility of heavy rain again into next weekend, as another disturbance moves into the region.
Forecasters suggest an additional one to three inches of rainfall will be possible, with another flood watch potentially being needed by the middle of this workweek.
