If you have travelled I-220 through Shreveport one night in the past week, and you crossed the Cross Lake Bridge, you have to admit just how awesome the new lighting looks.

Kudos to the DOTD and the City of Shreveport for a job well done!

Now, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is about to address another issue in the vicinity of that bridge.

This closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and is necessary to allow for DOTD crews to perform bridge railing repair.

This bridge is located approximately 0.8 miles west of the US 71 (N. Market Street) interchange.

The DOTD highlights that this is a total bridge/ramp closure and all vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route such as I-49 northbound can be accessed via I-220 to US 71 (N. Market St) to LA 3194 (MLK Drive) to I-49 northbound. Detour signage will be in place.

As with all DOTD projects, this work will be done weather permitting, so inclement weather could delay, extend or modify the work day(s) or hours for this closure.
