More Bossier Traffic Woes Set to Begin Next Week
Why not one more traffic slow down in Bossier City?
Things are already moving at a snail's pace, so what's one more traffic wrinkle?
The good news is that, at some point, Bossier City's traffic should move quicker than ever and on some new and improved roads!
Of course, the I-20 reconstruction project is progressing nicely and the new Jimmie Davis Bridge construction will eventually replace the old bridge and bring an improved sense of safety to motorists in south Bossier and Shreveport.
And now, as work continues on the new Walter O. Bigby Carriageway, managed by the City of Bossier City, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has advised motorists that beginning on Wednesday, June 12, the northbound outside (right) lane of LA 3 (Benton Road) in Bossier City will be closed from Montgomery Lane to Ashland Avenue.
This lane closure is scheduled to be in place for approximately three weeks, and is necessary to allow the contractor to work on the northbound driveways on Benton Road related to the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway project that is currently under construction.
As with all DOTD projects, this work will be done "weather permitting" so inclement weather could delay, extend or alter the projected closure dates.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
