Traffic Sure To Suffer With Latest Announcement For Shreveport/Bossier
In the midst of what could be called "The Total Rebuilding Of Shreveport/Bossier Roads", another project has just been announced.
According to the announcement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, beginning Monday, June 3, the eastbound outside (right) lane of the US 80 (Texas Street Bridge) over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be closed.
This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm each day for three days, and is necessary to allow for repairs to the bridge railing.
Vehicles 10 feet or smaller will be allow to pass through the work zone. All larger vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
As with all projects of this nature from the DOTD, this work will be performed weather permitting, so inclement weather could delay, extend or modify the work days/hours for the project.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
