This has to be one of the oddest things I've ever heard. After seeing a few posts on social media and thinking they were jokes, I've found out from a credible and local source that people are buying all the hand-sanitizer from small stores and bootlegging it on the street and internet.

Again, after seeing the odd post on facebook from people selling marked-up Germ-X and Purell, I hit up an old friend who works at a local dollar store to see if this was really going on. The anonymous friend assured me that people had been buying out all the hand-sanitizer in the store with the "full intent of selling them on the street" since the announcement of the Coronavirus issues on the news.

The people of Shreveport are nothing, if not entrepreneurial, to be sure. But it turns out it isn't just local. I did a social media deep-dive and even people in other countries are getting in on this opportunity to make a few extra bucks by bootlegging hand-sanitizer. What a time to be alive.
