Last Minute Notice This Bossier Road Will Close Next Week

Several weeks ago, the DOTD announced that a section of Old Minden Road would have to be closed in Bossier City.

As the time arrived for that closure to begin, we were informed by the DOTD that the construction crews would need to delay the start of that closure.

Although the entrance/exit ramps for both directions of I-20 have been closed for months now, motorists were allowed to continue to travel under the interstate.

That travel will soon stop. Completely.

In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, motorists are advised that beginning this coming Monday, July 8, LA 72 (Old Minden Road) in both directions in Bossier City at the I-20 interchange will be closed.

This closure is scheduled to last for approximately one week, and is necessary to allow for the relocation of water lines and installation of a pipe related to the ongoing I-20 major rehabilitation project.

Access to local driveways and streets will be maintained during the road closure. Through traffic will need to utilize an alternate route.

DOTD states that this is a total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles traveling through on Old Minden Road will need to detour, and detour signage will be in place.

This work will be done weather permitting, so inclement weather could postpone, extend or alter the specified work time/days.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
