Bossier Parish Road To Be Closed Full Year Starting Monday
Drivers east of Benton in north Bossier Parish are going to have about a year to adjust to the "new normal."

That "new normal" refers to the detours that drivers will need to make for approximately one year as LA 160 in north Bossier Parish is closed during the removal and replacement of the two bridges over Cypress Bayou/Relief.
These bridges are located in close proximity to each other, just east of the intersection with LA 3, about 6.5 miles north of the Town of Benton.
This closure will begin this coming Monday, January 20, 2025 and will continue until the expected project completion in the Spring of 2026.
In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that the original bridges in this location were constructed in 1969 and the immediate work to replace them will include the construction of an access point for the crane, and burning of the vegetation that was cleared during the clearing and grubbing process done in late 2024.
The scheduled target date in Spring of 2026 is contingent upon weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
DOTD highlights in their notice:
Investing in the the replacement of these bridges will ensure the continued connectivity of communities that utilize the LA 160 corridor, enhancing quality of life and economic development.
