Northbound I-49 Lane Closing for Maintenance This Wednesday
For as long as many North Louisiana residents can remember, the deteriorating state of our roads has been one of our biggest concerns.

And sadly, it appeared as though Louisiana politicians were uninterested in doing anything to solve the problem.
Well, it would seem as though something, or someone, has changed that sentiment and has lit a fire under the correct people. The sheer volume of roadwork in the area, at present, has got to be at its highest in decades.

The latest advisory from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development notifies all drivers of yet another project in the area to better those road conditions. In this notice, we learn that this Wednesday, July 22, the outside (right) lane of I-49 northbound at Exit 241 (Mira-Myrtis Rd) in north Caddo Parish will be closed while DOTD crews perform some roadway maintenance activities.

To accomplish this, DOTD will need to close this lane from approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for this one day only. During this time the exit ramp will remain open and any previously permitted oversize loads will be accommodated through the work zone.
Though traffic could potentially slow in the area, no detour is necessary to facilitate the work. The work will be performed "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
