LA 169 Bridge Closures To Begin Monday 20 In Caddo Parish
While scores of Northwest Louisiana bridges are undergoing routine bridge inspections, it would appear the results of tests on some of these bridges has necessitated the need for repair.

In a notice this week from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, drivers have been advised that a pair of bridges on LA 169 (Greenwood-Mooringsport Road) will need to close while DOTD has crews perform some necessary piling repair.
While these are total closures and will be closed to all traffic, thankfully DOTD strategically scheduled them to be done prior to the start of the upcoming school year, which for Caddo Parish will begin on August 10.
With that in mind, DOTD's notice states the closures as follows:

Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23: LA 169 bridge over Piney Bayou (approx. 6.3 miles north of I-20)

Friday, July 24th through Thursday, July 30: LA 169 bridge over South Fork Cross Bayou near the Town of Greenwood (approx. 0.3 miles north of I-20)
As with any project of this kind, the work will be done "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter in other ways the scheduled work days.
