Avoid LA 3132 West This Sunday: Overnight Roadwork Scheduled

Shreveport drivers might recall that back on June 28, LA 3132 westbound was set to be closed for improvements, but that work was forced to be postponed.

In an alert from the Louisiana Department of Transportation, we have learned that work is now rescheduled to be done this Sunday, July 12 and will require the full closure of LA 3132 between the LA 511 (70th Street) and I-20 interchanges in Shreveport, as part of an ongoing project to replace overhead signage along LA 3132.

The full road closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 pm to 6:00 am for this one night only, however, there will also be intermittent lane closures tomorrow and Saturday nights, Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11th.

This work is being conducted at night to minimize the impact to traffic as much as possible. Motorists should be aware of the closure and make plans to utilize an alternate route. The eastbound direction will remain open to traffic.

Westbound motorists will be detoured via LA 511 (70th St) to Pines Road to I-20.

This work will be performed "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours for the project.
