Krewe of Centaur Parade 2026 – Route, Start Time, and Road Closures
If you thought a Thursday night would keep the Shreveport crowd home, you clearly don’t know how we do Mardi Gras in the 318.
The Krewe of Centaur kicked off its Grand Bal this past Thursday at the Shreveport Convention Center, and it was easily one of the most epic weekday parties in recent memory.
We are now officially in the heart of the 72-Hour Mardi Gras Marathon. If anything, the initial snow delays just meant we all had to party a little bit harder to make up for lost time! Now, we are headed toward the event Shreveport residents obsess over most: the Krewe of Centaur Parade.
The parade rolls this Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. To ensure you aren't left wandering for a spot or stuck in traffic, you’ll want to plan your arrival early. Luckily, the Krewe has released a detailed route and parking guide to help you navigate the crowds.
The Essentials:
Start Time: 3:00 p.m.
The Route: Begins at Clyde Fant Parkway & Lake Street, ending at East Kings Highway & East Preston Street.
Road Closures & Timing: Clyde Fant (Lake St. to Shreveport-Barksdale) closes at 7:00 p.m. Friday, briefly re-opening at 7:00 a.m. Saturday for setup. However, the entire parade route will fully close to all traffic at 1:00 p.m. Saturday for public safety.
Parking Pro-Tips: Parking on East Kings is restricted to permit holders. Avoid parking on the neutral grounds or improved roadways on Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy, and stay clear of Captain Shreve Dr. For those needing handicap access, dedicated parking is available at the "Duck Pond," Veterans Memorial Park, and Atlantic Ave at East Kings.
