Krewe Of Centaur Grand Bal Postponed Due To Shreveport Winter Storm
As the entire Ark-La-Tex braces for what could possibly be one of the scariest winter storms in years, a wave of cancellations has begun to sweep across Shreveport-Bossier.
While we were all looking forward to the glitz and glamour of the season, revelers are saddened to learn that one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Krewe of Centaur Grand Bal, has been officially postponed.
In an official statement from the desk of Captain Ricky Bridges, the Krewe cited "unprecedented winter weather" and unsafe travel projections for the Shreveport area as the primary reasons for the delay. "The safety of our members, guests, staff, and community must always come first," the announcement stated. While no makeup date has been set, the leadership team is working nonstop to rebook the event in the coming weeks and will share updates as soon as they become available.
What To Do About Your Hotel Reservations
If you had already reserved a room at the Hilton Shreveport at the Convention Center, there is a plan in place to assist you. To avoid late cancellation fees, the Hilton asks that all reservations be cancelled by 4:00 PM two days prior to your scheduled arrival date. You can process this cancellation through their website or by calling the front desk directly.
Emergency Board Meeting Called
The Krewe is moving quickly to navigate these changes. An emergency board meeting has been called for tomorrow night, January 21st, at 6:00 PM at the Krewe of Centaur Den. The membership is encouraged to attend as the board discusses logistics regarding the new date and refund options.
Above all, the Krewe asks everyone to prioritize safety, stay off the roads during the storm, and take care of one another. We look forward to celebrating together very soon under safer circumstances.
