10 years ago tomorrow, millions of Americans will reflect on the tragedy that was 9-11-01 and collectively we will grieve.  At the same time we'll rejoice that our wonderful country not only survived, but has taken steps to reassure its citizens that terrorist behavior will not be tolerated or repeated.  As the youngest member of the Kiss Country staff, we get a completely different perspective of the horrible events of September 11, 2001 from our own Jay Whatley.

On 9-11-01 I don't remember much, I was in the 4th grade at the time. I remember my 4th grade teacher bursting into tears as she attempted to tell the class what had just happened. I still didn't really grasp what she was saying. Almost immediately after my teacher spoke to the class, my mom checked me out, along with several other students. That's when I knew something serious had happened. Then my mom explained everything to me the way only a mother can.  I had no idea then just how much that one single day in the 4th grade would change the rest of my entire life.
