Look For I-20 Lane Closures This Weekend That Will Make Traffic Slow
Once again this weekend, driving through Shreveport and Bossier could become a little tricky.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, motorists are advised that on Saturday, July 22, the outside lane of I-20 eastbound over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be closed for routine bridge inspection.
This lane closure is scheduled to take place from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Additionally, the on-ramp to I-20 westbound from Traffic Street in Bossier City will be closed for bridge routine inspection.
As the department continues these bridge inspections, look for additional delays on Sunday, July 23, when the outside lane of I-20 westbound over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be closed for routine bridge inspection.
Just as the lane closures on Saturday, this Sunday ramp closure is scheduled to take place from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
As with all work projects from the Louisiana DOTD, the work will be performed "Weather Permitting" and according to the long-range forecast from the Weather Channel, there is a chance for scattered thundershowers both Saturday and Sunday, so the possibility exists the work could be postponed or amended in some fashion.
The DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
