Dana Hicks Is This Week’s Caught in the Act Recipient
To know that you have been an incredibly positive impact on the lives of young people has got to be one of the greatest honors ever!
Dana Hicks might not have known that her impact was felt by so many, but she can't say that anymore!
Especially after we got her nomination letter from Shelby Simmons. In that letter, Shelby explained just how far Dana goes to shine a positive light on her students, and sharing that letter with Dana truly brought her to tears.
It's her heart and dedication that have made Dana one to look up to, and she's this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award!
Dana Hicks is not only an amazing tennis coach, but a tremendous mentor and role model. As I played in the Shreveport City Tennis Tournament final, I heard a faint, yet distinct, "Lets go Shelby," and looked up to see Mrs. Dana beaming at me. She drove 45 minutes to come watch me and her old tennis athlete play and had not missed up playing all weekend. She coaches the Calvary Tennis team and pays for the 20-30 of us every meal we go to and is a constant encourager to us every practice. She is never in a bad mood and lights up every room she walks in. She has shaped my character and guided me through success in all aspects of my life. She has always been a listening ear, and never fails to answer my phone calls when I have a question. She truly is an incredible person.
Dana Hicks, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Dana to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
