I-20 Westbound at Monkhouse Drive remains closed Monday morning due to the crash of an 18 wheeler around 10:30 Sunday night.  Officials from the Shreveport Fire Department report that the 18-wheeler drifted into the center median, then over-corrected causing it to roll multiple times.

Apparently the truck was loaded with bio-diesel fuel and about 2,000 gallons have leaked from the rig.  The fuel is made from recycled vegetable oil and other similar products and according to Louisiana State Police, because it's listed as a "non-regulated material," they do not consider it hazardous.

However, some of the fuel leaked into a nearby drainage ditch and crews are working to vacuum the fuel from this area.

Shreveport Police report that the westbound lanes of I-20 at Monkhouse could be closed until 8:00 this morning as the clean up efforts continue.
