I-220 And Shreveport/Barksdale Bridge In For More Traffic Issues
Barring inclement weather, two separate heavily traveled bridges in the Shreveport/Bossier area will soon see some problems for motorists.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, drivers are advised that the following nighttime lane/bridge closures have been scheduled in Caddo & Bossier Parishes for the purpose of routine bridge inspection.
Lane Closure Scheduled For Saturday, November 18
The Louisiana DOTD will conduct a bridge inspection on the I-220 bridge over Red River which will necessitate the closure of the westbound right lane first and immediately following, the eastbound right lane will be closed, from 8:00 pm. to 10:00 am.
Lane Closure Scheduled For Sunday, November 19
DOTD will close the eastbound right lane of the Shreveport/Barksdale Bridge over Red River this Sunday, November 19 between the hours of 8:00 pm and 5:00 am for routine inspection.
As with all projects performed by the DOTD, this work is weather permitting and bad weather could bring on extensions, delays or postponements of these projects.
Drivers are urged to pay attention to advance warning signage, remove all distractions, slow down as you enter the work zone, and drive with caution as you encounter crews and equipment.
