If you'll remember, not long ago, residents near the former Shreveport Country Club were up in arms over a proposed drug rehabilitation facility taking over a portion of the property. That deal was shot down, but now the same situation has come up in west Shreveport.

When residents of the Steeple Chase neighborhood in west Shreveport found out about plans for a drug rehab center coming to their area, they were immediately concerned. While they agree that the program is great for the area, they have safety concerns when it comes to their neighborhood.

Despite residents speaking out, the Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission approved rezoning an area near West 70th for the project. According to ArkLaTexHomePage.com, the facility would employ more than 120 people pending Shreveport City Council approval. It was also include a women's dormitory and a gym.

It looks like this issue will tackled June 2th by the Shreveport City Council.
