Holly Kennedy-Jones Is This Week's Caught in the Act Recipient

It's not often that we get to visit with someone while they are actually in their barn, feeding their goats, but it happened this morning.

That's exactly where Holly Kennedy-Jones was this morning when we called her, and while her location was definitely off the beaten path, it certainly was no surprise, given the nomination letter we received about her from her good friend Hannah Gamble.

Reading just how big of a heart Holly shares with her "menagerie" and her Christian family and friends, her being in the barn to start her day was exactly where one would expect to find Holly.

And it's that big heart of Holly's that made her an easy selection as recipient of this week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Just look at the letter we got about her from Hannah and you'll understand.

There aren’t enough words to describe my friend Holly. She is always looking for a way to help others whether it be in her work place at the Desoto Parish Sheriffs Office or volunteering at the Desoto Parish Animal Services where she is on the board of BFF of Desoto Animal Services. Her love for animals is very obvious with her 5 rescue puppies plus her mini farm of goats, chickens, and turkeys! Also, in her free time which there isn’t much of that she is a volunteer coach at Central School and also coaches one of the little kids Desoto Hoops basketball teams! She is for sure in her element on the basketball court because that’s where her heart is. Recently in 2023 her and a group of friends organized a Bible study for Desoto parish residents that started with about 7 individuals and now is up to 50. I know when I’ve been at my roughest point she’s always been there fo r me to help me in anyway possible like she is for so many people and that is why I think she should be the recipient of the caught in the act award.
