October 24, 2012 The State Fair of Louisiana opens tomorrow, October 25, and odds are you probably have some incredible memories of the Fair. Mustard dripping off your elbow from the foot long corn dogs, fingers sticking together while you inhaled pounds of salt water taffy; that distinct "smell" of the live stock show, sitting with that somebody special, hoping you'd get stuck at the top of the Ferris wheel. And there's those great memories of the rodeo and the concerts.

Any number of variables could prevent you from being able to vote on election day. Illness or injury; even a sudden trip out of town could prevent you from getting to the polls, so early voting is encouraged.

October 20, 2012 Friday morning, Tracy Turner quietly slipped into the memories of Kiss Country. Which, for anyone who listened to Tracy, knew how uncharacteristic this was. There is nothing quiet about Tracy. With a personality big enough to fill the Superdome and a wit sharp enough to cut diamonds, she was as loud as any college marching band, and she will be missed.
October 19, 2012 Report cards came out this week in Bossier Parish. I suspect there is crying and gnashing of teeth in several homes as we speak. Truth be told, we never have any cruel and unusual punishment at the McCoy house on report card day. It’s not that McCoy boys are Bill Gates smart or that I’m too lazy to pass out a butt whippin’ when it’s needed. It’s that I don’t believe in report cards.
September 27, 2012 So, in about 6 weeks we'll cast our votes for President. Obviously, this will probably be one of the most important elections of my adult life. Logic would have us believe that if we’re in better shape today than we were 4 years ago, then we certainly want to stay on a proven winning path. And if we’re not doing so well, then it’s probably time for a change.

In case you didn't pick up on it the minute you saw this photo, this is a real live Yankee. He showed up here at Kiss Country and we can't make him leave. Course, the only thing a real Southern boy hates to see worse than blue lights flashing behind his pick up is a Yankee with a U-Haul pulling into the house next door. And now there's one in the office right next to mine.

I am an LSUFOOTBALLAHOLIC and I’m betting it’s terminal. See, I got bit by the LSU football bug a long time ago and there’s really no cure. I’m pretty sure that even if there was, I don’t want to kick the habit.
August 30, 2012 Isaac? Wasn't he the bartender on "The Love Boat?" Course he was. He's not the "Grinch Who Came To Steal Dove Season." I just don't believe that even flood water and gale winds could dampen our life long tradition of the dove hunt.
