Sunday, November 7, at 2:00 am, Daylight Saving Time will officially come to an end. That's when we will officially revert to Central Standard Time here in our time zone.

Remember the hour of sleep the government took from us back in the Spring?  On November 7th, we'll get it back as we set those clocks back.

Actually that day, for all intents and purposes, will be twenty five hours long. Essentially, we'll just repeat the 2:00 am hour. When the clock strikes 2:59:59, it will roll right back to 2:00 am and we get to enjoy the ride again.

What does that mean to us other than having the dubious task of re-setting every alarm clock, oven display and coffee pot in the house and in the truck?

It means that sunrise will be an hour earlier than the previous day. Course, that also means sunset will come an hour earlier as well. That has both advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of the time change means those household chores like leaf raking or grass mowing, that you've been doing in the evening hours, will get to be pushed back due to the early darkness.  And for the same reason, since those things didn't get done during the week, those tasks will now occupy most of your free time on the weekends.

Just remember, time falls back in the fall. Saturday night, November 6, before you go to bed, set your clock BACK ONE HOUR and you'll be good to go.

If you forget, you'll most likely be the first person at church Sunday morning!
