Why The March 8 Time Change Is Actually Bad For Your Health
Regardless of the obvious disdain Louisiana citizens have for the idea, in about three weeks, we'll be forced to do it again.

No, tax time is a little further away. We will soon be forced to make that semi-annual clock change for the start of Daylight Saving Time. The dreaded date this year is Sunday, March 8. At 2:00 am that morning, those clocks will magically jump forward to 3:00 am and just like that, we will lose an hour of sleep.
It's a move that Louisiana and the rest of the country would appear are sick of making. In a poll conducted in 2023 by YouGov, we see that 59% of Americans would like for Daylight Saving Time to stay permanent.
Essentially, those people polled would prefer if America would make this next clock adjustment the last one ever.

Instead of adjusting our clocks again on Sunday, November 1, 2026, nearly sixty percent of Americans would like to jump forward on March 8, and then never touch those clocks again.
The Time Changes Are Even Bad For Our Health
A story from nbcsandiego.com highlights the health issues with the dreaded time change. As they write, "A study published in Cell Press in 2020 found that springing forward each year increases the risk of fatal traffic accidents by 6%. The University of Michigan found a 24% increase in the number of heart attacks that occurred on the Monday just after the time switch, compared to other Mondays."
So, let's see if we can sum this up. A vast majority of people have expressed the desire to end this process. It apparently causes a number of health complications and unless there's something we are unaware of, it won't cost a nickel to stop the practice.
Why haven't we stopped already? Oh yeah, I forget. The government has to make this decision.
