Wounded Soldier Benefit in Benton June 19-22: The North Louisiana Wounded Soldier Benefit will be held at the Bossier Parish Riding Club Arena in Benton. The activities kicked of Thursday night and go all weekend which include bull riding, a trail ride, ranch rodeo and a ranch sorting. (more)

Local Athletes to Compete in National Junior Disabilities Championships: Matthew Wallace and friends Peydan Brown and Javaris Marshall are currently raising the funds to compete at NJDC, the National Junior Disabilities Championships in Ames, IA. To help them raise funds, supporters have organized a Fish Fry tomorrow, Friday, June 20 at the Airline High School parking lot from 4-6 PM. (more)

Bossier City Firefighters Rummage Sale: The rummage sale will take place today from 5 p.m. to dusk and Saturday, June 21 from 7 a.m. until dusk in the vacant lot on the northwest corner of Beckett Street and City Hall Drive (site of the old Bolinger Building) across from the Bossier City Municipal Complex. South Highlands Summer Market at Mall St Vincent: Shreveport’s new summertime Open-Air Market going through August 8th, every Friday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 pm under a large tent outside the mall adjacent to the historic St. Vincent Academy. (more)

Shreveport Farmers Market: Festival Plaza this Saturday morning event that kicks off at 7am features live music, homegrown fruits and vegetables. As well as, jams, jellies, prepared food, art and more. (more)

The Gentleman’s Cooking Classic: Saturday June 21st at the Shreveport Convention Center from 6-9pm. This year’s theme is “Southern Cooking Meets Zydeco” and will feature dishes prepared and served by Kiss Country politicians and civic and community leaders. (more)

Haughton Farmer’s Market: Begins it's summer run tomorrow June 21 from 8:00am to 12:00pm through August 9 in their brand new location at the intersection of Highway 3227 and Allen Town Road beside Tuscany Subdivision and across from Cornerstone. The Market was created to provide local people with a venue to sell their produce, foods and crafts. (more)

First Baptist Church of Haughton Student Ministry’s Annual Sporting Clay Classic: Saturday, June 21, starting at 8:00 am with registration and skills contest at Los Paloma Sporting Clay Range & Event Center near Benton. The tournament will begin at 9:00 am. Registration is a $100 entry fee or $400 for a team of four. (more)

Tails, Tunes and Treats: Sunday at the Brass Monkey This is a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. There will be a $5 raffle for gifts/treats and BBQ for purchase. Come out and enjoy a free afternoon of live music from 1-6pm. (more)
