It’s So Easy To Register Your Son For Caddo Sheriff’s Camp
Think your son might benefit from some supervised instruction in swimming, archery, marksmanship and the development of leadership skills?
It's too easy to get that for them with the Caddo Sheriff's Camp!
Sheriff Jay Long announced that applications are being accepted for this summer's camp to be held June 9 through June 12 at the Kinsey Scout Reservation.
This is an overnight camp for young boys ages 9 to 12 and is being conducted as a joint effort between the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and the Boy Scouts of America, Norwela Council.
The camp recognizes underserved Caddo Parish boys for their good behavior and academic achievement. The purpose of the program is to develop leadership skills and encourage involvement in scouting by introducing campers to outdoor activities like swimming, archery, and marksmanship.
One of the main benefits of this camp, is that it introduces scouting to Caddo Parish boys who may not otherwise have an opportunity to attend summer camp. Not only will campers get a great experience from the fellowship of other campers, they'll gain a wealth of knowledge regarding a number of outdoor activities and could possibly use this experience as the impetus to a future leadership role.
Transportation to and from camp is provided, and funding is made possible through citizen donations. Applications can be obtained from the Boy Scouts office at 3508 Beverly Place or by calling 318-868-2774.
The deadline to register is May 15.
