Two Music Legends Coming to Shreveport
Shreveport Municipal Auditorium just announced that a rock legend and a bluegrass icon are coming to Shreveport. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss are coming to the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on April 25, 2023, with special guest - JD McPherson.
Robert Plant gained fame in the late 60's as the front man for the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin. According to Wikipedia:
In 2008, Rolling Stone editors ranked him number 15 on their list of the 100 best singers of all time. In 2011, Rolling Stone readers ranked Plant the greatest of all lead singers. In 2006, Hit Parader magazine named Plant the "Greatest Metal Vocalist of All Time". In 2009, Plant was voted "the greatest voice in rock" in a poll conducted by UK classic rock radio station Planet Rock.
In 2023, he appears at number 63 on the Rolling Stone magazine's "200 best singers of all time" list.
Alison Krauss played at the Municipal in October of 2019, and if you missed it, you missed one of the best concerts I've ever been to. (And over the years I've seen Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, and Diana Ross.)
Krauss has won an incredible 27 Grammy Awards. Let that sink in just a moment... 27 Grammys. She was the most awarded singer and female artist in Grammy history until Beyonce won her 28th Grammy in 2021. The only other artists who have won more Grammys are Quincy Jones and classical conductor Georg Solti. Krauss is recognized as one of the few artists that actually has perfect pitch.
In addition to being a multiple Grammy winner, Krauss plays several instruments including the violin, mandolin, and piano. She first teamed up with Robert Plant in 2007 when they released the album "Raising Sand."
Tickets for the Municipal Auditorium concert go on sale - Friday, February 2nd, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
