While Tommy Delrie is certainly a man of the law, he's mastered the art of upholding the law and yet tempering it with a true love for his community.

In his nomination letter we read from his "adopted daughter", Krystin Pugh, we see that Tommy is the School Resource Officer at a local elementary school for the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department, and not only does he love his job, he truly loves the students, and they love him.

That love doesn't stop at the school. Tommy is constantly called upon by his community and he never fails to answer that call.

And that love extended all the way to a young Krystin Pugh who needed him in her life and he's left an everlasting impression on her.

That's why Tommy Delrie is this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Tommy, or as his grand babies call him, Poppa has served his community for well over 20 years. He is a School Resource Officer locally and loves his job and everything that comes with it. The way he adores his students is so heartwarming. He will do anything in his power for each and every one of them; from blocking traffic to protecting them on field days and so much more that is all behind the scenes. Now something about this man…. He is not my biological dad. But if you ever saw him and I in public, you wouldn’t know any different. He has taken myself and my 3 kids under his wing. He didn’t have to do it. But he didn’t think twice about it. I know if I call him, he will be right there. From day one, he has supported me in more ways than I can count. And here recently, it was for me to get my paraprofessional license. He believes in me and pushes me because he knows what I am capable of and never wants to see me fail. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say, he has changed my life for the better and that I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. There aren’t enough words in the English language to describe this man. So Dad, no, they aren’t calling you because I applied for a weekend job and I made you a reference. They are calling you because of all that you do for your community, your school kiddos, and your family. You and Mom go have a nice date night without your children. And we can’t wait to hear how it went. I love you, Dad. Please know, we appreciate everything you do. And not a single thing goes unnoticed. Love, Trouble.

Tommy Delrie, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Tommy to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
