It is safe to say that people from the Ark-La-Tex will gladly make a drive for great food, and Chef Gabe Balderas of El Cabo Verde is living proof of that.

Every single Sunday, I personally make the 35-minute drive from North Bossier all the way to the Provenance community in Shreveport just to get my weekly culinary fix.

But guess what? There is incredible news for me, and for the thousands of local fans who are absolutely obsessed with Chef Gabe’s restaurants. He is officially coming across the river into the city that has been begging for his delicious meals!

Get ready, because The Brine is sure to become Bossier City's newest ultimate foodie destination. The best news of all? This brand-new concept is all about fueling your body with healthy, fresh dishes that you can eat right before or after you hit the courts to play some pickleball.

The Brine will be crafting incredible, nutrient-packed smoothies, and yes, to all of my friends who are obsessed with freshly squeezed juice, this is officially going to be your new favorite spot to check out.

Hearing Chef Gabe talk about his newest project and his passion for helping bring the Bossier Boardwalk back to its greatness gets me so excited. We have all talked for years about our dream restaurants coming to the area, and landing The Brine is a massive, massive win for the Louisiana Boardwalk.

This space is going to be incredibly unique. We will finally have a gorgeous area for families to gather and eat right along the scenic Red River, which is a dining experience I have honestly never had around here! Plus, if you are looking for a spot to work, there will be multiple rooms available if your business needs to host a private meeting.

"The fact that Shreveport-Bossier will soon be home to not one, not two, but three unique concepts by Brooke and Chef Gabriel Balderas is just incredible," said Grant Nuckolls, a local business owner and a huge cheerleader for our Shreveport-Bossier community.

According to the team, the vision is deep: "As brining unlocks, deepens, and preserves flavor, our concept is intentional in every detail, bringing contemporary southern cuisine to a modern health club environment."

The Brine is slated for an opening in late summer 2026 at the Louisiana Boardwalk, right alongside The Picklr Bossier City. If you are just like me and completely obsessed with checking out new food spots, go follow The Brine on social media right now to watch them as they build out this amazing new concept!
