Kansas City Southern Railroad has some work to do, but they will have to close a couple of heavily traveled Bossier City Roads in order to get that work done.

Beginning later this morning, I-20 westbound in Bossier City could slow to a crawl with the closure of a lane and some entrance ramps.

The work continues this week at I-220 and I-20 at the Barksdale Air Force Base Interchange and will require some alternative plans to navigate the area later this week.

Soundbound lanes from Mooringsport to Blanchard and northbound lanes from Blanchard to where the truck is stopped are closed at this time.

The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office has just reported they've had to close Highway 5 at Highway 3015 in Longstreet, Louisiana.

Nobody wants to work on a Sunday, but in my humble opinion, this is certainly the best day to halt traffic, if needed, and do bridge inspections.

LADOTD will be doing routine bridge inspections and they expect the lane closures to take place from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Keithville-Springridge Road from Keith Road to Colquitt will be closed from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today.

Some overnight road work will be done over the weekend, and it means a portion of I-220 will be shut down temporarily.

Thursday evening the Bossier Parish Police Jury informed us that the westbound lane of Wemple Road has been closed from Old Brownlee Road to Highway 3 while crews conduct sewage and road repairs.

As I was driving into work this morning on I-220, I caught sight of one of those big flashing signs and thought to myself, "Did that just say that 220 is going to be closed for 3 days?" After a little clicking around on the Louisiana DOTD website, I found that was the case for sure.
