Survey Reveals What Makes a Good Neighbor on Halloween
So what makes a good neighbor during Halloween? A study from Nextdoor, revealed results today of an online survey of 2400 adults that examines Halloween Habits. Questions included, "What age is appropriate to trick-or-treat?" and "Do you take your kids out on Halloween?"
Here are some results from the survey...
- 13 was the age when the most respondents believed that a child becomes too old to trick-or-treat (19% say this)
- 25% of parents who take their children aged 17 and younger trick-or-treating have met new neighbors for the first time on Halloween
- 32% of people socialize with neighbors on this holiday
- 60% take their kids trick-or-treating and 60 percent give out candy
- 30% of parents will dress up for Halloween
- 32% have dressed their children in homemade costumes
- Lower income households spend the most: Americans with a household income of less than $35,000 who will spend any amount this Halloween said they plan to spend on average $112, which was the highest reported of all income groups. This is more than twice as much as people with a household income between $50,000-$75,000 who plan on spending about $52.
