Louisiana City One of America’s Worst For Trick-Or-Treaters
The website wallethub.com recently ranked what they considered to be "The Best Places For Halloween" and right there next to the bottom of the list was one of very own Louisiana cities.
In their findings, we learn from wallethub.com that,
This year, the average U.S. household is expected to spend $108.24 on Halloween expenses, from decorations to treats to costumes. Collectively, that’s about $12.2 billion between the 73% of households that celebrate.
In determining which of America's one hundred largest cities would get the most for their Halloween buck, wallethub.com considered twenty key metrics including costume stores per capita to share of potential trick-or-treat stops.
When all the Halloween dust had settled, New York City was considered the number one city in America for Trick or Treaters. Ranked #1 for Trick or Treater Friendliness, #3 for Halloween Fun and #4 for Halloween Weather, The Big Apple apparently is tops for ghouls and goblins.
However, looking at the other end of the spectrum, Birmingham, Alabama finished dead last at #100. Metrics including their last place finish in Halloween Friendliness and 80th in Halloween Weather make the third most popular holiday in America a bit of a bummer in 'Bama.
But, only one position ahead of Birmingham, finishing in 99th place is Louisiana's very own Baton Rouge. Though hard to believe that Baton Rouge doesn't get into the spooky spirit, their 97th place finish in Halloween Friendliness and 92nd place finish in Halloween Weather resulted in a showing nearly guaranteed to melt your chocolate treasures.
